Colorado has more mountains reaching at least 14,000 feet than any other state. It also has many organizations to support and promote artists. From performing arts to graphic art to painting, artists have a haven in beautiful Colorado. The state recognizes that the arts are an important addition to the economy; in metropolitan Denver alone, arts and culture generate $1.3 billion in economic activity annually!

Major universities, along with private four-year schools and community colleges, offer degree programs in the arts. Colorado State University, the University of Denver, and the University of Colorado are some of the more well-known universities, but there are also many smaller schools offering art programs, and technical schools for those interested in career-focused two-year programs.
