Alaska is the largest state in the Union but the third smallest in terms of population. It is bordered by Canada's Yukon Territory and British Columbia in the East; the Gulf of Alaska and the Pacific Ocean to the South; the Bering Sea in the West; and the Arctic Ocean in the North. Its breathtaking scenery offer endless fodder for the adventurous art student's imagination!
Alaska offers some wonderful examples of native and Aboriginal art, much of which has been preserved and passed on through the generations to the native peoples still living there. Students will also learn traditional art and design techniques in art degree programs at universities and colleges there. Employment possibilities include teaching, self-employed artist, scenic painting, art reconstruction and preservation, and more!
