Photography Career Specialties
- Commercial – Commercial photographers take photos that can be used in media, such as catalogs and advertisements. Photographs typically depict products, models, landscapes, or buildings.
- Fine art – Fine arts photographers use their creative talent to produce photographs that are sold as fine artwork.
- Industrial – Industrial photographers take pictures for industrial purposes, such as of machinery or company officials, which are used in project analysis or for record-keeping purposes.
- Photojournalism – Photojournalists, or news photographers, take pictures of newsworthy events, people, and locations, which are used in media such as newspapers, magazines, or TV.
- Science – Scientific photographers use pictures to demonstrate scientific findings and also to record data.
